The Dirty Show was fantastic! I attended both weekends saw my art hanging amongst pieces made by artists I have admired for decades and even got to watch my piece sell on opening weekend! It was a hugely supportive and welcoming crowd and I can’t wait to submit more work for next year’s show!
Dirty Show and my ultra violet vagina
It’s been a goal my whole life to show my work in a public manner, but alot of insecurities have prevented me from seeing opportunities. Another goal of the past few years has been to prepare and submit something to the annual Detroit Dirty Show. I’ve had alot of changes and challenges in the past year and so it is very exciting to say that in celebration of learning more about myself, I have submitted and had work selected to be in my very first public art show!
Lines and Shading
Currently in project rotation is my first attempt at traditional tattoo flash illustration.
The concept and initial prompt list for this page was created by me for a traveling tattoo artist friend who’s convention at the time was in the same hall as an exxxotica cam girl exhibition. As he ended up not working with the ideas I ended up picking his brain a bit about the traditional methods to approach the project, and then began flushing out the individual illustrations. I’ve started several early drafts at this point adding more elements with every layout change, working with two distinct line weights, and practicing my “spit shading” technique with ink and watercolor.
